Captain’s suggestion :to be sure of your sailing trip, pick out a day at the beginning of your stay to be able to postpone your excursion due to meteorological problems

Our outdoor activity in the gulf of Porto is absolutely depending on weather conditions. As sea professionals we consult meteorological charts many times a day to organize our outings with maximum security and utmost comfort.

If conditions are bad ( heavy rains or rough sea ), under the captain’s advice, the excursion is according to your possibilities either postponed or reimbursed totally.

Captain’s suggestion : rust us. If the weather looks stormy, no fear, the gulf of Porto benefits from an attractive climate, 9 times out of 10 the clouds are stuck to the mountains that keeps the sea front clear.

The Golf of Porto is designated by the UNESCO  an exceptional site. located on the western part of Corsica, the gulf profits by a maximum sunlight all day long.

• In the morning, the plus:  less boats at sea, nice light, peaceful atmosphere and turquoise sea. Generally it is less windy that in the afternoon, this is why we suggest mornings for those who are near and have a short way to come
• In the afternoon, the plus: turquoise sea, high sun, adequate schedules if you have a long way to come.
• In the evening, the plus: less boats at sea, sunset, different hues on the rocks

The Captain Suggestion: from the gulf of Porto it is difficult to be disappointed by the natural monuments that surround us. After thousands of hours spent in the tgulf, I stick to my same speech: the best time is the one you appreciate.

It is always possible to cancel more than 4 hours before your departure. In this case the trip is reimbursed totally. For private excursion cancellation must be done more than 48 hours beforehand.

Yes, our clients are mainly families, we transport everyday children of all ages. Far from “boring” trips, aboard the Alpana you cannot get annoyed. Our recipe, an idyllic scenery highlighted by life commentaries and live anecdotes on fona and flora and the history of the region. Mix with strong emotions when getting into grottoes, a touch of fun on the 700 horsepower to reach the different “hot spot”. While bathing in a secluded cove you will get thousands of fires in your children’s eyes

Of course it is possible to swim during the excursion, the captain will cast his anchor on the must beautiful wild cove that you may avail yourselves of the crystal clear water of Corsica. The Alpana gives you the opportunity to use easy breath decathlon masks which are acme for this kind of snorkeling (the only mask in the world which makes it possible to breath with you mouth and nose) For temperature reasons the bathing stops are essentially in summer during circuits I and II.

The harbor of Porto is the nearest site to be visited. Leaving from Porto you will be only 5 minutes navigation from Piana coves, 10 minutes from the village of Girolata and 15 minutes from the natural reservation of Scandola. Your excursion will be mainly devoted to discovering prestigious sites.

If you are a group bigger than 12 we can get in touch with another company to split the group and stick to the quality of sailing aboard 12 seater boats while respecting the same schedules for departures and arrivals

To leave for an excursion to the coves of Piana, Capo Rosso grottoes, the village of Girolata or else the natural reservation of Scandola. Whether you have chosen the longer or the shorter tour of the gulf, we advise you to take:

• Spring/Autumn a cap rather than a hat, solar creme, a bottle of water, sunglasses, camera. We recommended that you dress as if you were hiking: trousers, sweater, sneakers and windbreaker
• Summer a cap rather than a hat, solar creme, a bottle of water, sunglasses, camera, swimsuit and towel. We recommended that you dress as if you were going to the beach: short, t shirt, flip flop. For the last trip in the evening we advise to take a windbreaker.

Seasickness or naupathia is a kind of kinetotia (motion sickness) do to dysfunctioning of your inner ear. At sea, the balancing created by the motion of the waves disturbs the information that is sent to the equilibrium center in the inner ear. The higher you are on the boat the stronger the effect, this is why seasickness is more frequent on bigger boats than smaller ships as your gravity center is lower.

Yes, the Harbor of Porto is only reached on foot and counts two parking lots. The former on the right side Place de la marine is paying. The other on the left side leading to Porto beach is free.
